WHAT IF you just started a small company and has been working part-time to get your business ready since 4 months ago? For the moment, it's zero income because everything's not 100% functional in the company just yet. And you're still working full-time with another company to keep up with the debit-credit flow in your life.
Would you stop working to concentrate full time on your upcoming company and resign from your current job, cutting off the main source of income you have? Or would it be too much of a risk to resign now (since you're not earning yet) and quit only when the business has started generating income?
Supergirlfriend is in this situation. And she's getting ever more frustrated having to work for other people (like a dog) and earn money for other people while time is of essence in her new company.
What would you do if you were in her shoes?

All of us have 24 hours a day. Make full use of it. 8 hours for full time work and 10 hours for your own endeavours.
I would keep my full time job but limit to the number of hours stipulated in my employment contract. The rest of it goes into my own business. When my own business picks up, time to say bye bye to my boss and be my own boss.
if only my case were to be that ideal..hahah..with the horrendous jam in KL..and with the line of work I'm in...hmm..by the time I get home..I would have been nearly brain dead! Haha. But thanks for sharing, amos..I understand what you mean. :)
it depends on a calculated risk basis. R u confident the new company will generate income ? How long before it does ? Can you survive through ( resigning ) and start up it and wait for how long the cash flow to move in ?
If you are confident enough that the new company will be THE ONE, then might as well, throw yourself full time in it...
Thanks for sharing, freethinker. I took some time to think over what you shared. I suppose survival is not a problem because I have other minor source of income too.
But as for when I would estimate my company to be making money, it can only be done after I have tied up all the loose ends (which may only happen in the middle of the year at the current rate)

Going on one's own is a very brave move and I respect any person who does that.. it takes confidence. If you have other minor income sources to tie you over, then you should go all the way and put all your time and effort into your own biz. Doing well means doing it in by the bucket full.. not half buckets.. takes a lot more energy and totally ineffective.
